Leading this nearly 7 million dollar effort as the prime contractor, GMRE completed the production and delivery of 52 C-5M Core Mission Computer / Weather Radar (CMC/Wxr) modification kits, 2 Aircrew Maintenance Systems Training (AMST) modification kits, and initial spares to the Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex. The full requirements included the assembly, sub-assembly, kitting, and delivery of the kits using the government-provided Time Compliance Technical Order (TCTO) and Technical Data Package.
This unique project had several layers of complexity, including several hundred parts – some with very long lead times, and a component that required partnering with the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM).
Running this initiative at our headquarters in Ogden, UT, we identified errors in part numbers and quantities in the TCTO and immediately provided feedback for updates to ensure accuracy. From this, we also identified the need to add a sub-kitting step – which ultimately helped avoid possible delays in schedule and increased costs.
Combining our engineering and program management expertise, we were able to provide exceptional results for this complex assignment.
